DEATH: Mrs. Margaret J. Sharewood, wife of James N., of Freehold, died 10/30/1906 at 74 yrs. Husband and five daughters, including Mrs. John B. Barkalow, of Camden.

DEATH: Charles Lloyd Holmes, of Freehold, died 1/1/1906, at 56 yrs. Son of Mary and late Jonathan, and born in Holmdel, 9/7/1850. Married, 1875, Eleanor L. Conover, daughter of the late Thomas P. Barkalow. One son, William S., of Freehold. Mother, brother, George H., and sisters, Mrs. Leonard David, Miss Mary W., and Mrs. Cornelius Mount, all of Redbank. Buried Maplewood.

DEATH: Mrs. Minnie Barkalow, wife of Edwin R., died at home of husband's parents, Charles, of near Adelphia, 1/23/1907 at 23 yrs. Daughter of Mrs. H. Megill of Farmingdale. Married 9/24/1905. Brothers and sisters, Ira, William & Edward Howard, Mrs. Mulford Smith, of Farmingdale, Mrs. Charles Johnson, of Redbank, and Mrs. Jennie Hampton, of Freehold.

DEATH: Edward T. Gravatt, of Adelphia, died 2/7/1907, at 87 yrs. Wife and children: Charles, of Ely, William, of Freehold, Mrs. William H. Barkalow and Mrs. Lizzie Barkalow, both of Adelphia. Buried Adelphia.

DEATH: Garret Barkalow, of Georgia School House[Bradley Beach], died 3/27/1907. Leaves wife and two sons, Otis and Harry.

DEATH: Edward C. Southard, of Unionville, died 6/21/1908 at 58 yrs. Married Libbie Barkalow. Wife survives, sisters and half-brothers: Mrs. Morris Woolcott, of Newark; Mrs. Nelson Cooper, of West Farms; William, of Unionville; Thomas, of Lakewood; James, of Smithburg; and George, of Centerville. Buried Adelphia.

DEATH: Mrs. Angeletta Barkalow, widow of Cornelius C., died 8/21/1908, at 85-8-7. Daughter of John and Elizabeth Voorhees of near Hyson. Married 1st) David Clayton(two children: John H. Clayton, of Lakewood; and Mrs. Maggie Hendrickson, of near Lakewood). Buried Harmony.

DEATH: Charles A. Robinson, of West Freehold, died 8/26/1909 at 79y-11mo. Three children: David, Clarence and Mrs. Charles Barkalow of Freehold. Buried Baptist Cemetery.

DEATH: Mrs. Cassie M. Conine, of near Freehold, wife of Clark, died 9/18/1909 at 61-3-3. Daughter of Charles I. Matthews of near Freehold. Husband and one son, Alva H. Brothers and sisters: Joseph C., of Lakewood; Charles J., of near Freehold; Joseph H., of Asbury Park; Mrs. Eliphalet Barkalow, of Adelphia; and Miss Martha, of near Freehold. Buried Harmony.

DEATH: Aaron Ely, of Hightstown, died 11/17/1909 at 77 yrs. Married Mary Ann Wyckoff, dec'd. Two children, dec'd. Brother, Richard, of Clarksburg, and sisters, Mrs. Phebe Walling of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Alexander Barkalow, of Freehold.

DEATH: Mrs. Rebecca Marple, wife of Samuel, of Freehold, died 11/22/1909 at 53 yrs. Daughter of Matthew[Matthias] and Rebecca Emmons Barkalow who are both buried at Adelphia. Married 12/31/1874. Husband and two daughters: Misses Lydia and May, and, one sister, Mrs. James Errickson, of Freehold. Buried Maplewood.

DEATH: Joseph C. Matthews, of Lakewood, died 2/14/1910 at 78 yrs. Married twice. Two sons by 1st) David, of Elton, and Frank, of Cassville. Brother and sister, Jackson and Mrs. Eliphalet Barkalow of Adelphia. Buried Harmony.

DEATH: Gravatt, William D., of Sweetmans, died 8/23/1910 at 89 yrs. Children- John, of the West; George of Clarksburg; Mrs. William Barkalow, of Ely; Mrs. Mary Conover, of Sweetmans, and Miss Lillie of NY. Buried Maplewood.

DEATH: Mrs. Ella Barkalow, wife of Theodore, of near Adelphia, died 1/12/1911 at 56 yrs. Buried Catholic Cem.

DEATH: Richard Smullen, died 9/22/1911 at 35 yrs. Leaves wife, who was wife of late Henry Barkalow, and six children, mother, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, all of Newark. Buried Maplewood.

NOTE- These additional obits represent extractions by James B. Hankins from the files of the Monmouth County Historical Society, 70 Court Street, Freehold,NJ., obituaries which do not duplicate those previously listed. Mr. Hankins explained that the obituaries located among the Society's collections are filed alphabetically for the years 1830 to 1912. Thereafter, and continuing to the present, MCHS maintains a collection of newspapers for which an index is not available. DEATH: Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, wife of Jacob I., and widow of William Jeffrey. Also widow of Rev. Matthias Barkalow. Died at home of daughter, Mrs. James Morris at 81 yrs., 5 mo., about 11/10/1871. (p.22,I.,Democrat)

DEATH: Maryanne Barkalow, wife of John E., died 8/14/1874 at 28 yrs., 4 mo. Only child of George S. and Sarah Laird. Leaves three children. (p.35,Democrat)

DEATH: Unis[Eunice] Barkalow, died 12-30-1876 at 82 yrs., 5 mo. From Blue Ball. (p.46,Democrat)

DEATH: Catharine Matthews, died 12-21-1895 at 86 yrs., 5 mo., 12 days. From Georgia Schoolhouse, widow of Charles. Surviving children- Joe Jackson, James, Henry, Martha, Mrs. Clark Conine, and Mrs. Eliphalet R. Barkalow. Buried Freehold Baptist. (p.108, Transcript, 1888-1898)

DEATH: Matthias J. Barkalow, of Stillwell's Corner, died 2-28-1901 at 68 yrs. Son of John D. Wife and two daughters survive. Civil War Vet., Co.E.,29th Regt.,NJ Vols. Enlisted 9-3-1862.(p.131, Transcript, 1898-1901)

DEATH: Gilbert Hendrickson Hulse, of Englishtown, died 7-23-1907 at 51 yrs. Son of William B. of Georgia Schoolhouse. Married first, a daughter of Dan Cook, of Ardena, who died 24 yrs ago and left one son, J. Laird Hulse. Married second, two years ago, Miss Kennedy, of Englishtown, and leaves one child.
